Gaetz Resigns AG Position

Former Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz has decided not to pursue the attorney general position after days of discussion about whether to make a congressional report on sexual misconduct allegations against him public.

On X (previously known as Twitter), Gaetz stated that the controversy surrounding his potential nomination was "unfairly becoming a distraction" for the incoming Trump administration's work. Trump has since picked Pam Bondi for attorney general after Matt Gaetz withdrawal.
